Preparing Your Equipment for an Online Hypnosis Session
To help you get the most out of your online hypnosis session and ensure the best possible experience, here are a few preparation tips:
- You will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and an internet connection.
- If possible, use headphones or a headset with a microphone for better audio quality (recommended).
- Make sure your device is fully charged and can last for the entire session.
- Your device should be placed on a stable surface — you should not have to hold it in your hands.
- Choose a quiet and comfortable place where you will not be disturbed during the session.
- During the session, you will be seated (preferably with a headrest), with your hands free.
- Framing: Ideally, I need to be able to see you on screen from the top of your head down to your hands resting on your legs or armrests.
- Position your device so that you are visible on camera from your hands up to the top of your head. Inform anyone in your household that you won’t be available during the session.
Checking and Optimizing Your Internet Connection
Test your connection quality at: https://www.speedtest.net/
Ideally, your connection should show:
- “Download”: higher than 2 Mbps
- “Upload”: higher than 1 Mbps
If the values are below 0.5 Mbps, your connection needs improvement.
In that case, move your laptop closer to your internet router to boost the Wi-Fi signal, then run the test again.
If the speed remains below the recommended values, consider switching from your home Wi-Fi to your smartphone’s mobile connection.
Check the speed of your mobile data by turning off Wi-Fi on your phone and running a test at https://www.speedtest.net/.
(Be aware: video calls can use up to half of a 10-GB mobile plan in less than five hours.)
You can then turn your smartphone into a Wi-Fi hotspot by following these instructions if you have an iPhone, or these instructions if you have an Android device.
Approximate Internet Speed Requirements
- High-definition video: 2.5 Mbps (download) and 3.0 Mbps (upload)
- High-quality video: 1.0 Mbps (download) and 1.5 Mbps (upload)
- Standard-quality video: 0.5 Mbps (download) and 0.5 Mbps (upload)

You can also take a few steps beforehand to help make the session even more effective for your goals.
